I don't think I've ever written as much about an out of town show as this one (save for Sasquatch), but it seems like a fair number are as excited as I am about Daft Punk in Seattle. The pre-sale starts tomorrow at 10am, and the passwords are 'robots' and 'theend' (one would assume for the internet and radio pre-sales respectively). Good luck, everybody. (thanks to wono, peter, and db)

Frog Eyes is at the Media Club on June 6th with Himalayan Bear.

The Rosebuds are at the Media Club on June 9th.

Le Blogotheque (whom I haven't mentioned before for some reason, even though I'm on their mailing list) has two live videos of the National up as part of their Les concerts a emporter series. The band performs "Ada" and "Start a War," which will both be on the band's upcoming release, the Boxer. Make sure you poke around some more, they've captured some pretty fine moments on film. (le concerts a emporter en anglais)

now playing: the National - Start a War (live)

Wow, nice National finds. I'm thinking i want to see them again. I hope everyone gets a chance to see them. They are 10x more intense live and at Richards... thats tough to beat. Well anyways love the vids, that page makes me wish i paid more attention in french class in grade 11.

I always wondered what daft punk would be like live. Anyone been and have any comments??

What they look like live. SPOILER WARNING!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:48 a.m.

apparently theyre working on a new set... so it's not a total spoiler.

But if you want to be completely surprised, yeah.

I picked up a pair as well.

It's going to be sweet.

oh hey, i got tickets as well. Vancouver blogger convention at Daft Punk! thanks for the password.

I saw them play at that plaza of nations club in 96 or 97. They wore Reagan and Nixon masks. everybody thought it was crazy.

A friend has suggested the following (email Edo at ph@mothafu.ca if interested):

====Forwarded Message====
I have this glorious vision of a bunch of us, as many of us as possible, dressed up as robots and getting smashed on the Amtrak train on the way down to the emerald city. A train you say?!! Yes, you can actually leave Vancouver by train! I did it several weekends ago, and it was only $30 each way. Very comfortable, beautiful scenery, boozing is allowed (you can even buy liquor on board), and you don't even have to get off at the border... all anal probing is done in-car.

If you're up for this, get your tix and then get in touch with me and we can talk about the train. Tell as many people as you can think of who know that these Parisian electro-gods are worth every last one of our maple leaf pennies.

From now on the pilgrimage will be referred to as: NO SLEEP TILL DAFT PUNK
