i was grindin' back in '88 when i was on rollerskates
Last Monday, I went to LanaLou's for Mirah.
She's been here more recently (though only slightly), but I'm pretty sure the last time I saw her live was at Richard's in 2008.
It's always weird to see which 00s acts have gotten bigger and which ones have yet to be rediscovered. Judging by the venue choice, Mirah's firmly in the latter camp, but it was a treat to see her in such a small room.
She played through this year's Dedication in full before finishing with a handful of tracks that spanned the rest of her career.
On Thursday, I walked over to the Fox to catch Jody's Still Here EP release.
Unsurprisingly, Vancouver turned out for one of the city's longstanding musical fixtures.
I've been living with the EP for awhile and listening to it pretty regularly, so it was great to hear the new tunes live.
