Chromeo is canceled, because Dave 1 has visa issues. Yeah, on the surface, it makes no sense that a Canadian would have border troubles when he's supposed to play in Canada, but these things generally have to do with re-entry into the US after he touches native soil... so blame Homeland Security. Thursday isn't a total bust though. Pee Thug (the other half of Chromeo), Flosstradamus, and Small Town DJs are doing a bit of a make up gig at the Bourbon.
Thunderheist is at the Royal Unicorn tomorrow night. Thanks to my friend Indy for asking me about this show, which reminded me that I should probably try to go.
Head over to the SLU Records website. They've got the mp3s from the 7" lathe cut of Channels 3x4 jams that they put out about a year ago up for free download.
Random quasi-music related thought of the day: Did anyone else see Rescue Dawn and think "(slightly) emaciated Devendra Banhart" when Jeremy Davies comes on screen the first time?
now playing: the Fiery Furnaces - Cabaret of the Seven Devils
Labels: mp3, show announcements

Have fun at Thunderheist. I really want to go, but I've got night school. Hoping to get into that UBC gig to see them and Girl Talk (assuming a UBCer can bring a guest..?)

I imagine they Thunderheist won't go on before midnight... if they do, then I definitely can't make it.
For GT, each student is allowed one guest.

, atconsidering how many bands that don't schedule a vancouver tour stop (even though they play seattle and toronto) and the number of bands that cancel their vancouver date (for whatever reason), it's amazing we get as many gigs in vancouver as we do
