don't run our hearts around
Black Mountain is at Richard's on November 3rd, but their already recorded full-length won't be out until "early 2008." Boo-urns.
The August listings for the Lamp are out, and here are some shows that may interest you...
The Mark Birtles Project plays on August 5th with Hot Panda (who were, according to my friend Luke, one of the only tolerable parts of NMW), the National Shield (who also come recommended by Luke).
The Ludvico Treatment play with Sex Party (that was fun to google!) on August 12th.
Joel Tong's new band What's Wrong with Tohei? are there on August 15th with Ghost House and the Rain and the Sidewalk.
Thor and Darkest of the Hillside Thickets are having a dual CD release show on August 18th.
And the third installment of the Finally dance party is on August 28th.
Speaking of dance parties, my friend Neil is DJing at a brand new one on August 15th at the Biltmore. It's advertised as being Better than Lonliness and it's only $5. Apparently the Biltmore has been renovated, and hopefully also less sketchified.
Bishop Allen is opening the John Vanderslice show on October 15th.
Oh, and if you're heading down to Seattle this weekend for Daft Punk, you should know that SebastiAn and Kavinsky get things rolling at the ungodly (for French electro) hour of 7pm. The robot rockers wrap things up at 11:15pm - which is around the time you'd imagine this sort of thing would start. On the bright side, that gives almost three full hours of action at the after party.
now playing: Andrew Bird - Weather Systems
