Really sad news out of the SSRIs camp:
Dear friends,I hope you'll join me in extending my deepest condolences to Joe, Elliot, and the rest of Tommy's friends and family.
As some of you may or may not have heard, Tommy Milburn passed away July 1st 2008. He was loved by many and will be incredibly missed. We were so lucky to have known him and spent the time we did with him. We benefited greatly from the personality, enthusiasm and creativity that he brought to this project and to our lives. We are currently putting the finishing touches on an EP that the three of us had been working on for the past two months. As soon as it is finished, it will be released both online and on CD. At this point we are still unsure as to what will happen to this project. However, we are so happy to have been able to write these songs with him. We loved him so much and he was loved by anyone who was ever lucky enough to have met him.
We send our love and condolences to all of his family and friends, and hope everyone is doing their best to cope with this horrible loss.
Tommy, we'll always remember you and we'll always love you.
-Joe and Elliot

Awful news man-tommy's drums were the shining light in that band. How did he die, and so suddenly?

hey quinn thanks for posting this, and thanks for the support
yeah taylor, i was so stoked once tommy joined the band, we felt so much more like a unit, and we were all best friends, and i thought the music was getting way better... it's so fucking awful and random that this happened. as for what happened, here's the story:
on sunday night i was hanging out with him, and his friends claire and nick. we drank a few beers in a park together and then claire and i both went home at around 3 am because we had to work the next day. tommy and nick hung out, and climbed on top of a chinese restaurant. nick tells me there was a skylight with tinted windows that didn't even look like they were glass. apparently tommy stepped on them, and nick turned around and saw he'd fallen through, 30 feet to a hard concrete surface. i heard about it the next day at 10 am when nick told me that something really bad had happened, that tommy had had a big fall and that he might die. we were all super optimistic, and were sure he was going to pull through. later that night, we heard that his blood pressure had gone up and that doctors were checking up on him every hour, which was bad. the next morning rose, his girlfriend, and i were planning to go to his house to pay his rent, but then she called me and said we had better go to the hospital right away, because things had taken a turn for the worse. they were going to keep him on life support until 4 pm when his sister was to arrive on a flight from england, and then they were going to cut his life support. a whole bunch of us went to the hospital, and got to see him one last time after they cut the life support at around 6pm
it was so sudden and i still can't really believe it happened... i appreciate the kind words and support from so many people though
